5th November 1938. View of the south side of York Road prior to slum clearance, showing premises between Elm Street on the left and Sloe Street, off the picture to the right. Entrances to Sunderland Place and Club Court can be seen. The main focus of the photo is the former business of James Clayton, furniture dealer, at no.56-62.
