Judson's Yard, off Cavalier Street

27th October 1911. View of Judson's Yard, situated off Cavalier Street, which is seen on the right. A group of children are gathered in front of outbuildings in the centre, with a few sitting on the top. A man, possibly a postman, is seen on the right. In the foreground is a cleared area where buildings have been demolished as part of the East Street Improvement scheme.

Another picture (20091124_169834), showing the entrance to Hardwick's Yard, and the enclosed Zion Square, which was behind it. and which is just off camera to the left, displays a similar scene, with young children standing grouped for the photographer. The date on both images tells us that the two pictures will have been taken more or less at the same time. Perhaps there were other Yard and Street Ends in that area which boasted similar scenarios on that day. If there were, I wonder if those photographs are still in existence?
