Description:
17th April 1951. View showing tram no.22, on route 9 to Dewsbury Road via the Corn Exchange, at the Gipton terminus on Gipton Approach. Wykebeck Valley Road is seen running from left to right in the background. The tram, a Chamberlain built between 1925 and 1928, carries an advertisement for Cephos, 'for headache and influenza'.

The trees in background are hiding killingbeck hospital. Cephos powders were used as a cure for influenza and were reliable cold cure.

Comment:
Iwent to wykebeck infants and junior school,and the whole class used to catch this tram to york road baths for swimming lessons and when boarding the tram everyone stood on the foot bell that the driver used as a horn,to the delight of the driver and conductor.
