Description: 25th May 1948. View showing Harrogate Road by the junction with Stainbeck Lane, known as Stainbeck Corner. The Yorkshire Penny Bank is towards the right. Two trams are seen on the road : nos.407 (left) and 63 (right), both Chamberlains bound for Moortown. User Comments: Name: Shirley Holton Comment: The police station and the library are just out of sight on the lower right of the picture. The parade of shops can be seen - I remember A Benton's shoe shop. Mr Benton himself used to serve there at that time.
