Description: 1997.
In 1997 Farnley Hill Methodist Church celebrated a two hundred year history since the opening of the original chapel in 1797. Here, two members of the congregation have entered into the spirit of the event by dressing in costume of the eighteenth century. The gentleman wears a ruffled jabot and frock coat while the lady wears a blue and gold gown and large brimmed picture hat. This early chapel of 1797 was replaced in 1827 by the present day building which is now Grade II listed.
