Description: 18th January 1953. View showing tram no.225 on Town Street by the junction with Half Mile Lane towards the left and Leeds and Bradford Road on the right. Just visible on the far right is the edge of the Pavilion Cinema. The tram, a Horsfield built in 1930-31, carries advertisements for Stylo shoes and Albatross flour. User Comments: Name: Paul Emmett Comment: It's a pity that my friend's sweet shop, Kayes, at the corner of Half Mile Lane, is completely hidden behind the tram. I remember how the children used to come dashing out of the Pavilion Cinema every Saturday afternoon at about 4.15pm, after the Saturday matinee, and many of them would head straight for the sweet shop.
