I was one of the partners of John Fletchers Foundry in the complex of Huslet Mills and allthough the large mill was empty there where many small companys in the big yard.One day we where given the nod that the mill would come down with a controled explosion on the sunday when no one was working, two days before the big bang the Victorian society got wind of it and had a preservation order slapped on it and when I retired in 1995 it was still there, it could still be there today. During the early 50s I was taken to the Hunslet mills by my uncle who worked for a blanket making company in the complex. I believe the large building was derelict then.
