High Royds Hospital, Aysgarth, Ramsgill and Hawes wards
14th March 2007. View of the former High Royds Psychiatric Hospital during its conversion to a residential village. This block situated directly to the right of the main administrative block is the female block comprising Aysgarth, Ramsgill, and Hawes wards. All the wards were given the names of Dales villages in 1963 at the time that the hospital (formerly the West Riding Pauper Lunatic Asylum) was renamed High Royds (a name that had been adapted during the war when it was used as an emergency hospital).
