My father, an expert on pubs, always said that The Grey Goose was undoubtedly the worst pub on the planet. It certainly had a reputation from its early days. I went there once, in the mid 1980s, and I think my dad was right...
Re: Vern. I think the following were all worse than the Goose. The Hayfield Hotel (Chapeltown), Wilsons Arms(Seacroft), The Royal (Armley) Middleton Arms, The Market Tavern (Mad House) Black Bull (Pudsey) & Fforde Grene (Roundhay)
