Undated. View of Middleton Broom Colliery which opened in 1868, and for a hundred years was a well-known landmark and major employer in the area. Middleton Broom Colliery was owned by Middleton Estated and Colliery Co. Ltd from 1918. It closed down in 1968.

i remember the site as a scrap yard with some of the buildings still there aswell many of the track sti;ll there
