February 1946. This street scene showing Elland Road is by W.J. Monger, the Headmaster of Churwell School between 1945 and 1956. He painted the scene from his home which was opposite Daffil Farm shown on the left. Research by Ronnie Barraclough. Photograph from the David Atkinson Archive.
