View of Yeadon High Street looking east, showing regeneration work underway. The scheme, approved in 2008, incudes C.C.TV cameras, resurfacing of the roads and widening of the pavements, a 20 mph speed limit and landscaping of the roundabout. The £900,000 scheme is part of a wider £13 million initiative designed to improve Town and District Centres in the Leeds area. The work is expected to be completed by November 2009 and is being carried out by North Midland Construction. On the right is The Aviator public house, in a building which originally housed the cinema before becoming a Bingo Hall. On the left is the green awning of 'The
Vegetable Patch' and the red and white striped awning of Wilkinson's butcher's. Morrison's supermarket is visible in the backgound with the glass arcade.
