Beeston Road, number 219, Cranbrook House,
15th November 2010. Image shows number 219 Beeston Road, a red brick end terraced house located adjacent to Cross Flatts Park. It is built with a 'turret' containing bay windows to the ground and first floors. The name-plate on the turret wall is faded but, if magnified, reveals that this building bears the name, "CRANBROOK HOUSE". A Leeds Directory for 1906 shows this to be the residence of Alderman Joseph Fearnley Carter. At this time he was serving on several committees on behalf of Leeds City Council including Highways, Markets, Parks and the Distress Committee.
