Elland Road, aerial view
Undated. Aerial view looking north-east showing Elland Road running through the centre from top left to bottom right. Leeds United football ground is on the top left and Churwell in the centre. Elland Road turns into Victoria Road as it moves towards Morley on the bottom right. Beeston can be seen at the top of the photograph.

The Cottingley estate (neither the prefabs nor the later dwellings) is not yet built in this view, and the Crematorium appears to be in a very early phase of development (upper half of image, left of centre). Even the Ring Road, west of the Elland Road junction with Crow Nest Lane, appears to be not yet built. I'd hazard a guess at late 1920s, or early 30s.
