16th July 1937. Aerial view of the Quarry Hill area where work is in progress on the construction of Quarry Hill Flats, top centre. Roads around the building site are, from top left, York Road, York Street, St. Peter's Street and Eastgate. Regent Street leads off to the top left, The Headrow is in the bottom left corner and Vicar Lane runs along the bottom, with the Corn Exchange visible to the right of centre. The railway line and River Aire can be seen on the right.
