The gentleman second from the left I knew as Tom (Tomissa) Radusin whom I believe to be of Yugoslavian origin, the gentleman fourth from the left I knew as John (Yoya) Drawbak whom I believe to be of Polish origin, both lived in Leeds. I don’t know if these names were pseudonym’s or even if I have spelt them correctly... but what I do know, is that they were two of the most hard working and conscientious men I have ever known in my 50 years mining career, I would class them as the 'crème de la crème' of the mining fraternity. It was a honour and a privilege to have worked with them. Not long after this photo was taken I lost contact with them as I moved on to different mines.(Does anybody who frequented the Leeds Polish Club remember them?) The first person on the left is me! sorry can't remember the name of the gentleman third from left.

Nearly right Tomisa Radusin was my dad after Waterhaigh closed he went on to work at Lofthouse Colliery until he retired in about 1983 he then spent many happy years looking after the cellar and beers at the Serbian Welfare Centre in Chapletown Leeds• Jovan (yoya) drobak was actually Yugoslav like my dad, both came from a tiny village in what is now Croatia though both were of Serbian origin•
