c1947-1949. Image shows some of the children of Coldcotes Infants Council School in a posed group photograph taken in a play area overlooking houses in Thorn Grove. The children are seated or standing on play equipment including a rocking horse and a slide. A Leeds directory for 1947 lists Miss Doris Townend as the Headmistress. This photograph is of Miss Rossall's side of the school,we were separated from Miss Townend by a archway and could not go over a white line painted in the playground tarmac. As far as I remember kids from the Ambertons side went to Miss Rossalls,and kids from the Eight shops side went to Miss Townend's side?.
