1911. Postcard view of Church Lane showing properties numbering 21 to 27. At the left hand side the railings belong to the former Wesleyan Chapel which later became the Methodist Church. The railings were removed during World War 2 as part of the war effort. The house adjacent to the chapel is number 21 Church Lane. In the background the taller roof belongs to 'The Hollies' at number 27 Church Lane. Nowadays, this is a residential care home with 28 residents. The Hollies was built by Jabez Woolley in brick from his own brickworks situated at number 147 Elland Road in Leeds. The substantial house is located at the junction with Station Fields, formerly Station Road.
