c1900s. An early 1900s view of Station Road looking towards Town End and Wakefield Road, showing the Miners Arms public house in the left foreground. This pub has gone through various name changes over the years, having once been the Black Bull then later the Jolly Collier before becoming the Miners Arms; it has also sometimes been known as Vince's after a previous landlord. Another former landlord had been Albert Mountain VC but the landlord at the time of the photo was John Beevers.
