Description:
Painting by Yorkshire artist, Pete Lapish, of the colourful herbaceous border created in the old walled rose garden at Temple Newsam. The painting has been executed in the pointilistic style and is made up of many tiny dots of colour. Pointilism is a technique first developed by the French Impressionist artists, Georges Seurat and Paul Signac, in the 1880s.
