Description:
Undated. Image taken in the rear garden of a prefabricated house, addressed as number 15 Cottingley Gardens. The view looks down from Cottingley Walk towards Cottingley Crescent which veers left and right. Millshaw Leather Works, the firm of W.L. Ingle Ltd. can be seen to the right. Beeston is on the far left and Middleton is to the far right.

This picture is undated, but the fact that there are 'Prefabs.' puts it definitely after 1945. Ingle's was still operating in the early 1960's, (I went there for a job interview about that time.) As far as I know, most of the Tannery was demolished by the early 1970's. Thus, picture will fit into a time-frame starting somewhere after 1945 and up to sometime prior to the early 1970's. As of today, (November 2010), there is still part of the old office block still standing. It is being used by a department of Leeds City Council - 'Health and Environmental Action Services'.
