Image shows pupils at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic School, situated on Barley Hill Road. This was a small school and the picture includes all those registered at the time. The small child sitting on the knee of another towards the right is Lilian Kennedy who, though aged only three, was included on the roll to boost pupil numbers and help prevent the threat of closure.
