November 1989.
Councillor Arthur Vollans is pictured in front of a new housing development in South Parkway. The project was a joint partnership between Leeds City Council, the Yorkshire Metropolitan Housing Association and the Yorkshire Bank. The development was part new build and part conversion of old cottage-style flats which had been standing empty. The new scheme provided 57 homes including 6 3 bedroomed houses, 4 2 bedroomed houses, 12 one-bedroomed flats for the elderly and 33 sheltered flats with a warden on site.
