Image shows Councillor Arthur Vollans as he meets resident Mrs. Ada Oats outside the new housing development at South Parkway. The development was mixed residential and included the conversion of some 'cottage' style flats and some new build. The project was a joint partnership between Leeds City Council, the Yorkshire Metropolitan Housing Association and the Yorkshire Bank. The 57 homes comprised 6 3-bedroomed houses, 4 2-bedroomed houses, 12 one-bedroomed flats for elderly people and 33 sheltered flats with a warden on site.
