1962. View of the set of the film 'Billy Liar' on a cleared site off Green Lane. On the right is director John Schlesinger. The site was chosen due to recent demolition of terraced housing making it ideal for the portrayal of a ruined city.

This is a shot at the top of Clyde Street. The chimney in the background is attached to the Spotted Cow pub. This entire area was used as a part of wartime fantasy sequences from the movie.

Right on Graham, beyond the chimney over the railway embankment the chimneys of Whitehall Road School can be seen in the distance, this aria housed hundreds of people when I was a young lad
