Undated. View of Hamilton Place showing no.19, the groceries and provisions shop of J.R. Jennings, advertising among others Tetley's Bitter, Walls ice cream and Green Shield Stamps. Terraced housing on Hamilton Avenue is seen on the right. Children are playing in the street; their style of clothing suggest the photo dates from the late 1960s or early 1970s.

My parents owned this shop between 1950 & 1953. There was a perimeter wall at the back with a hut and a garage for the car. The shop also had a window at the side. I attended what was then Cowper Street school.
