View of Prosperity Street looking north-east towards Oatland Lane. Back-to-back houses are seen on both sides of the road, numbering (from the far end) 1 to 15 on the right and 2 to 18 on the left. Taken on a Monday morning, traditionally a wash day, with washing hanging on a line stretched acrss the road. In the background the Globe Inn can be seen on Meanwood Road, the streets in between Oatland Lane and Meanwood Road having been demolished. Prosperity Street and those on either side of it were soon to be demolished too; the area is now taken up with Carlton View, Place and Grove.
