Image shows Mrs. Laura Gwendolen Douglas Gascoigne on the terrace steps of Lotherton Hall (centre) with her grandchildren, Yvonne Trench-Gascoigne and Douglas Wilder Trench-Gascoigne. Mrs. Gascoigne created the terrace and gardens in the late nineteenth century and early 1900s. She died in 1949. Douglas, a captain in the Coldstream Guards, was killed in action in August 1944. Lotherton Hall is visible in the background. From the collection of the Wingfield family.
