Shops are mostly boarded up due to riots which have been taking place in the area, part of a series of riots nationwide, following on from riots in Brixton and Toxteth. Shops visible include the Trustee Savings Bank, Abbey National Building Society, GB Auto Centre, Robinson's Travel, Crockatt Cleaning, Jack Klineberg opticians and Maureen Fashions.
