Ashworth Street
Undated. View of Ashworth Street which ran from St. Marks Road, down across Holborn Street and ended at the back gardens of houses which fronted Institution Street. The back of the Methodist Church is visible in the distance, which fronted Woodhouse Street. Further into the distance Quarry Mount School can be seen, the building with the clock tower. To the right of the tower, on the skyline is the top thirty or forty feet of the Leeds Corporation refuse destructor chimney. It is located on Meanwood Road in Meanwood Valley and believed to be the tallest chimney for many miles at approximately 240 feet (73 metres).
