Image shows the frontage of New Farnley Post Office and General Store located at numbers 2 to 4 on the north side of Low Moor Side Lane, when at that time the proprietor was Ronnie Murgatroyd. The building, built in coursed gritstone, dates from the late 18th century and is believed to have originally been part of a farm. It is now Grade II listed along with the others in the row. New Farnley Post Office is nowadays housed in a new building at Low Moor Side. The little girl perched on the window sill enjoying an iced lolly is Vanessa Sharp, born in 1961.
