Kirkstall Abbey, Leeds Double Decker Tram Car 289
1910-1920. Image shows a Leeds Double Decker Tram Car, number 289, as it passes Kirkstall Abbey. The tram was part of a batch built at Kirkstall Works in Kirkstall Road, numbering between 283 and 292. Number 289 was described in a newspaper article dated 28th February, 1914 as 'ideal for Leeds'. The series had reverse stairs, vestibules and seats for 22 downstairs and 34 on the upper deck.
