Victoria Road, Double decker tram car, number 85
Description:
1905. View of a tram bound for the Domestic Street terminus, a number 85. Route 13 ran from City Square, along Bishopgate Street, Victoria Road, Great Wilson Street, Meadow Lane, Elland Road and then Holbeck Moor before finally arriving at the terminus. The number 85 tramcar was built in 1899 and is a 'Brush' uncanopied double decker. There are 4 window bodies with 'Tudor Arch' windows. Trams from this series were withdrawn between 1925 and 1928. The tram displays advertising for Nubolic Soap and Oakey's Knife Polish. Both driver and conductor are on board.
