View of a tram in use as a Recruiting Centre at Kirkstall Road Tram Works in the September of 1914. 'God Save the King' is spelled out in illuminated letters. The three slogans read as follows; 'The Country Calls, Kitchener Requires 500,000 Men, Go Now', 'Wanted at once 5,000 Recruits from Leeds, British Bulldogs, Airedale or Yorkshire Terriers' and finally 'Nah then John Willie'.
