The factory could have been Johnson Radley where I went for a job as a 15 year old in 1957, didn't get the job.

The factory on the left became Midgeley & Sutcliffe's premises on the relocation of Specialloid from Hunslet. It later became Richmond Machine Tool Company and the name Richmond was emblazoned on the tall chimney seen in the photo. I believe the Motor Auction company added their name later, and was still there up to the demolition of the property.

Re Peter Jackson's comment. The Johnson Radley factory was immediately to the left of the building shown, separated by a yard which went the full length of the buildings. I worked at Johnson Radley from 1978 to 1981 when it closed, and production was carried on at the Pudsey factory. All the employees at Hillidge Road were made redundant, although some were offered the chance to re-locate to Pudsey, most chose to go elsewhere.
