City of Leeds Ambulance
Undated. Image shows an old City of Leeds ambulance parked outside a building, possibly a hospital. The ambulance is likely to date from the 1950s and is similar to one damaged as a result of a crash shown in another Leodis image, ID 7377.

User Comments:

The ambulance is based on a Morris Commercial J-type van with with optional extra side windows. The Morris J Type van was launched in 1949 and was built at the Nuffield factory in Oxford until they were eventually discontinued in 1961 after nearly 50,000 had been made.
