Description: January 1957.
Image shows a famly group posing for the camera outside number 2 Seamer Street. Seamer Street was a row of red brick terraced homes located between Delph Hill and Armley Road, opposite Bankfield Mills. The elderly lady in the centre is Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Clarke. She is sourrounded by her family, including some young members. Mrs. Clarke died in the same year of the photograph, on 3rd October 1957, at the age of 87 after contracting Asian Flu. Number 2 Seamer Street was adjacent to number 192 Armley Road. It was the business of E. Binks & Son, High Class Family Butcher and a sign to that effect can be seen in the background, right.
