Image taken at Kirkstall Road Tram Works, situated on the south-west side of Kirkstall Road, showing tram car number 70. This was one of a series of 35 tram cars designed by the then General Manager of Leeds Tramways, William Chamberlain, M. Inst. T. and built between 1926 and 1927. Cigarette advertising for 'Craven Plain' is seen on the side of the vehicle, and also for Bovril, 'The 'Goods' for the 'Passenger'. Number 70 has a destination of 'City Square, via West Street'.
