Lower Town Street, Stocks Hill

Lower Town Street, Stocks Hill
Undated. Looking north along Lower Town Street with Stocks Hill on the left, taken around the beginning of the 20th century but no earlier than 1905, as tramlines and a tram stop can be seen, with a tram in the background; trams were first introduced in Bramley on 14th April 1905. To the left is a stone wall topped with railings, which contained a drinking trough and water pump; this still survives today and is now Grade II listed, but the rest of the buildings in the picture have since disappeared.
