Undated. View of Harehills looking north. On the right are the red-painted premises of Cecil Jacobs, tailor, at number 223 Harehills Lane. The shop stands at the junction with Dorset Terrace, extreme right. At the other side of the building is Back Dorset Terrace. Red brick streets in the Milan's and the Luxor's can be seen on the left. In the background the former clothing factory of J.H. Elton & Co. (Leeds) Ltd, shirt manufacturers at number 175 Harehills Lane is visible.

One of the shops on the left of the photo was Elphics Electrical shop. Opposite on the right was a parade of shops. Norton's post office and newsagent where I delivered newspapers morning and evening for half a crown. Next door was Morral's bakers and confectioners and further along was Beevers the butchers (circa 1930)
