In the 1930s the Post Office at that time was sited in the shop at the end of the parade as was the post box. It was Norton's newsagent where I took newspapers out morning and evening and the late sports paper on Saturday evenings. My 'wages'-half-a-crown Next door was Morrals bakers and confectioners and further along was a fruit shop and Beevers, the butchers. At the other side of Harehills Lane at the gable end of one of the Milans was Elphics electrical shop.
