Description: c1960-1965.
View of North Street looking north in the early to mid 1960s. On the left the business of C. Jackson can be seen, selling woollens and worsteds at number 61 North Street. The shop is next to the junction with Brunswick Street. The large building with a part tiled facade and a triangular roof is the former Smithfield Hotel which closed in the early 1900s. It became known as Smithfield Ironworks and Thomas Green & Son Ltd., engineers took over the site.
