Description: Undated.
Colour-tinted postcard showing the Macaulay Hall and Priestley Hall residences of Leeds Training College. Also known as Beckett Park Teacher Training College, it was set in extensive grounds that were formerly the Kirkstall Grange estate of the Beckett family, before being sold to Leeds council in 1908. In 1933 the Carnegie College of Physical Education opened on the site; the two colleges merged in 1968 to form the City of Leeds Carnegie College. This merged with Leeds Polytechnic in 1976, which became Leeds Metropolitan University in 1992.
