Triumphal Arch, Parlington Park, postcard
c1905. Postcard with a 1905 postmark showing the Triumphal Arch at Parlington Park. This was commissioned by Sir Thomas Gascoigne of Parlington Hall to commemorate the English peace with North America in 1782. Designed by architect Thomas Leverton, it was originally intended as the entrance to a new hall but this was never built. The arch remains however and is now a Grade II* listed building.
