Description: c1911.
This coloured postcard, entitled 'Near Adel Crags', shows Bridge Cottage on Stairfoot Lane. Seen from Stairfoot Bridge, it looks east towards Alwoodley. Bridge Cottage is believed to date back to before 1682 as it appears on a map of this date, occupied by Richard Wrigglesworth who farmed 36 acres of marginal land. The postcard bears a postmark of 1911. Today, a hundred years later, the cottage still exists but is now surrounded by woodland.
