John Barran
27th May 2005. View of John Barran's Drinking Fountain in Roundhay Park. John Barran M.P, a former Mayor of Leeds and a clothing manufacturer, presented this ornate drinking fountain to the people of Leeds in a ceremony held on 3rd of April 1882. In 1871 Barran had acquired Roundhay Park at auction and it was bought by the corporation for the benefit of Leeds people.
