I believe this very old picture must have been taken somewhere near Chapel allerton Park before Gledhow Valley Rd. was built, looking across woodland along upper Gledhow beck. The large field on the horizon will be the site of the Brackenwood estate and the houses on Lidgett Lane. On the summit of the hill,in the 1950s, was an old WW2 anti-ac gun site, on which we played as children. Down to the left of that site, in the valley, was Allerton Grange farm, on the site now occupied by Larkhill Green.
