Seacroft, postcard

Seacroft, postcard
c1904. Colour tinted postcard of Seacroft with a postmark of 24th August 1904. The view looks along Town Street, as York Road was known at the time, towards the National School and St. James's Church in the centre. Backhouse Yard is to the left and Marshall's grocery store on the right. Several people, including children, can be seen as well as horses and carts.

In the early 1940's I was riding my brothers' bike southbound, without permission, when I lost control and crossed the road just where the outbound horse & cart are. No traffic - so I hit the curb near that spot and the front wheel finished up looking like a pie with a slice cut out. Just had a couple of bruises so I was OK. Until I arrived home!
