Canal Gardens, fountain
Description:
Undated. Image shows one of the fountains in full flow in Canal Gardens, Roundhay Park. People are seated on benches along the path to enjoy the view. The gardens date from the early 1800s when they were laid out for Thomas Nicholson, the owner of the Estate. The 'canal' is actually a rectangular lake with a stone, rustic bridge at either end. Photograph courtesy of Stephen Howden.
