Description:
1956. View of the Freehold Street area of Burmantofts during demolition work which would eventually lead to the building of the Ebor Gardens housing estate on the site. The prominent building just to the left of centre contains numbers 14 and 15 County Street (nearside) and 12 and 13 County Street (far side). Running across to the right of this area the rear of properties on Cross Freehold Street, from left nos.9 to 3. On the far right is a building on Freehold Street. Industrial chimneys in the background belong to Leeds Fireclay Co. Ltd., terracotta manufacturers, specialising in glazed clay for faience, situated on Torre Road.
